Vid. Varsha Raviprakasha

Vid. Varsha Raviprakasha is a renowned international Bharatanatyam dancer, teacher, and visionary choreographer, celebrated for her dynamic blend of tradition, innovation, and scientific approach to movement. With over 25 years of dedicated practice in Bharatanatyam, she brings depth, precision, and profound artistry to her work. She is the Founder and President of the prestigious Swaravi Arts Foundation, Bangalore, India, an institution committed to nurturing and propagating Indian classical arts on a global scale.
 

Through Swaravi Arts Foundation, she mentors and trains over 350 students across India and around the world, creating a thriving international community of Bharatanatyam practitioners. She specializes in teaching Bharatanatyam through a bio-mechanical approach, using anatomical awareness to refine posture, enhance movement efficiency, and deepen the dancer’s connection to the form.
 

As an accomplished artistic director and producer, Varsha has conceptualized and led numerous impactful online and offline productions. Her recent magnum opus, ‘Giridhari’, has been widely recognized as an immersive and path breaking Bharatanatyam theatre experience. The production features over 60 dancers and integrates powerful live elements such as rain effects, the depiction of Govardhana Giri on stage, and holographic visuals, redefining the possibilities of classical dance presentation.

 

Varsha has represented India on international platforms, contributing significantly to cultural exchange initiatives. In 2025, she was invited by The University of Hong Kong to represent India as part of a cultural exchange program, where she conducted a Bharatanatyam performance and workshop for participants in Hong Kong. She has also collaborated with four-time Grammy Award winner Ricky Kej on digital productions that have received international recognition, including at festivals such as the Moovy Tanzania Festival , the Riaurau Film Festival, FIVC screen dance festival and many more.

 

Driven by a powerful artistic vision, Vid. Varsha Raviprakasha aspires to take Bharatanatyam to every individual across the globe, using it as a profound medium to tell meaningful stories, build cultural bridges, and spread the joy, depth, and knowledge of this timeless art form.
